Aquamarine has a long tradition of being fashioned as a vital part of jewellery. It is assumed that the first mentioned use was around 480 B.C. to 300 B.C.  The best material is generally mined in Brazil and Zambia (Africa), but due to the scarcity of high quality material, miners don’t shy away to mine at an altitude of up to 15,000 ft. (~4,600 meters) in the Karakoram Mountains.
